✌️hey, I'm Sijeesh Balakrishnan
STORYTELLER DESIGNER STRATEGIST

Having graduated in Journalism and Mass Communication and further in Product Strategy from IIM Calicut, I've been working in UX/UI, interaction and product designing for over 18 years. My experience is grounded in designing human centric experiences for digital products and services spanning across diverse sectors. I have also been leading cross functional teams in design and development with product and service companies, including small start ups and leading tech giants like Tesco, Sixt, HP, Printo, Redseer, Mckinsey, IFB etc.

Beyond the confines of the corporate world, I am a Marathoner, having participated in numerous marathons across India. My passion for exploration extends beyond the roads and into the rugged terrains of nature. As an enthusiast of trekking and mountaineering, I proudly achieved the feat of reaching the Everest Base Camp.

Brand Strategy Case study- Mobiux

Mobiux is a software design and development company that started with a modest team of 15 developers and designers. Over time, it grew into a powerhouse of 50+ talented professionals, earning its place as one of the premier design and development studios in India. A strong and focused branding strategy played a pivotal role in this remarkable transformation.

Challenge

In a saturated market teeming with service companies offering similar solutions, the key challenge was differentiation. The majority of competitors were either design-focused studios or development-driven companies. Rarely did a brand combine the best of both worlds under one roof.

The challenge was to create a unique identity that highlighted Mobiux's dual expertise in design and development, establishing it as a one-stop shop for transforming ideas into polished, market-ready products.

Brand Strategy

We positioned Mobiux as a Creative Tech Company—the strategy revolved around showcasing Mobiux as the ultimate partner for end-to-end product development, from conceptualization to execution.

Brand Positioning Line

To encapsulate this vision, we created the tagline:
"Humanizing Technology, Beautifully."
This line reflects Mobiux's mission to merge technology with human-centered design, emphasizing simplicity, elegance, and functionality.

Website Strategy

In an era dominated by vibrant, image-heavy websites, we chose a contrarian approach to stand out. The website was designed with a black-and-white theme to exude sophistication and focus. Minimalistic content ensured that every word mattered, while custom-made illustrations showcased Mobiux's capabilities in design, interaction, and creativity.

Social Media Engagement

To amplify the brand's visibility, we leveraged side projects that garnered significant engagement on social platforms. A standout example was the PAN India Food App UI Kit, which we shared on the Figma Community. This project not only highlighted our design expertise but also brought Mobiux into the spotlight within the global design community.

Internal Branding

We recognized the importance of fostering a strong internal culture to align employees with the brand's vision.

Hackathons: Regular hackathons encouraged employees to ideate and execute projects fearlessly within limited timeframes. This not only boosted creativity but also instilled confidence, resulting in innovative product ideas that enriched the company’s portfolio.

BLEND Sessions: Weekly interaction sessions called BLEND were introduced to deepen connections among team members. These sessions fostered collaboration, understanding, and camaraderie, further enhancing the workplace culture.

Results

  1. Growth: From a team of 15 to over 50+ members, Mobiux solidified its position as one of India's top design and development studios.

  2. Recognition: The PAN India Food App UI Kit became a notable success, establishing Mobiux as a thought leader in the design community.

  3. Culture: Internal branding initiatives boosted employee morale, creativity, and productivity, fostering a culture of innovation.
